02 / TURN AN IDEA INTO A PRODUCT
How 2 Build.
A guided path for taking one validated problem from first conversation to a working, tested product. Each stage has a task, a deliverable, and a decision to make before moving on.
By Vamshi Creates. The first interactive sample and HTML starter are available now. The full guided library and lesson videos are in development.
FREE WALKTHROUGH / YOUR FIRST COMPLETE WORKFLOW
Build a tiny claim tracker.
Working learning sample · full library in developmentStart with one loop: log a disputed order, see what is outstanding, and close it. Try it here, then download the single-file starter and make one change yourself.
Claim desk
Add a sample claim and move it through the queue. This demo resets on refresh; use fictional details.
- DEMO-1042
Two cartons missing from delivery
- DEMO-1048
Damaged packaging; photo requested
Make it your own in four steps
- Run it. Download
claim-desk.htmland open it in a browser. It works without an account, install, or server. Add a fictional order and mark it resolved. - Read the loop. Open the same file in your editor.
claimsholds the records. The form adds one record, the status control updates it, andrender()redraws the queue and active count. - Add one field. Add an owner input to the form, save its value on the claim object, and show it in each row. Give an AI coding agent that exact task if you want help; review the result before using it.
- Check the result. Add two claims with different owners, change one to Resolved, and check that the active count drops by one. Blank inputs should be rejected. Reset should restore the two demo records. Refresh should reset the page.
From demo to a real pilot
First watch a buyer try this with anonymized examples. If the workflow helps, add a database, authentication, team access rules, an activity history, and a safe way to attach evidence. This sample has none of those production features.
From pilot to a paying customer
Agree on one team, one claim type, a trial period, and a price before doing custom work. Compare time per claim and missed handoffs with their existing process. Ask what would make them keep using it, then build the smallest useful change.
THE FIRST GUIDED PATH
From a problem to a release.
The first example follows a distributor claim desk idea, connecting research to an actual product workflow.
- 01
Validate
Interview five buyers about a recent claim. Write down the missing step and current workaround. Continue when the same problem repeats.
- 02
Map
Map one order from complaint to resolution. Agree on the owner, required proof, next action, and a measurable result.
- 03
Pilot
Offer one team a fixed-scope, priced pilot. Deliver the result manually and record time per claim before automating it.
- 04
Build
Build intake, a queue, and status changes. Use the starter above; add accounts and durable storage before handling real customer data.
- 05
Test
Watch a buyer complete a claim without coaching. Note missed handoffs and confusing steps. Fix the largest obstacle first.
- 06
Launch
Ask pilot buyers for introductions. Track activation, repeat use, and paid renewals; use feedback to choose the next small release.
